For those situations where you require an IT director to step in for a short- or medium-term engagement, I am available. I will take an approach that is tailored to the situation and the required outcomes.
I can keep things running smoothly when there is a gap in the continuity of IT management. Perhaps through sickness or the incumbent leaving.
Sometimes significant change is required. It can often be helpful to bring in a third party on an interim basis to effect that change. Using a third part such as myself, means I can become the focus for any resentment about the changes whilst not having to worry about securing long-term working relationships.
Freeing up time, allows an incumbent IT Director to undertake a major project, such as an M&A integration or a business transformation programme. This can be a very effective use of their skills and organisational knowledge; it could also helps with their job satisfaction and career development.
It is vital to understand what is happening in an IT department; the strengths, weaknesses and the areas that require urgent intervention. I can come and compile a comprehensive situation report that provides actionable insights into the current situation within the IT environment in your organisation. This could be used for strategy development or for handover to a new appointee.
